Sanatorium Zonnestraal

Sanatorium Zonnestraal, designed by Jan Duiker (1890-1935) and located near the city of Hilversum, was founded by the Amsterdam Diamondworkers Union as an aftercare colony to train tubercular patients for their return to society. The main building and the Henri ter Meulen pavilion were built in 1928; the Dresselhuys pavilion was built in 1931.  Currently the main building contains several health care related companies, and the pavilions are in process of restoration.

It's nominated for the Tentative List is because of its role in the Dutch branch of the international Modern Movement.
