Tan Residence - Chrystalline Architect

Tan Residence was designed by Chrystalline Artchitect and is located in Jakarta, Indonesia.The main goals when developing the project were to ensure a large amount of natural light and good air circulation throughout the residence. There are many elements that contributed to these two major objectives which were cleverly achieved. According to the architects,  the house opens up in the back towards a large garden, which ensures the refreshment and privacy that the owner needs. Here is more about the inner structure of the project from the architects: “The vertical circulation towards the upper level of the house is in the form of a cantilever stair with frameless glass railings, which is positioned right next to the living room. This creates a sense of unity within the main room and the upper level. In the upper floor, a connecting bridge is located between the master bedroom, children’s bedroom and study room. This bridge transverse right in the middle of the void, therefore the activities of the owner could be seen whether in the living room, dining room, study room or master bedroom.”

Konnex - Florian Gross

Konnex by Florian Gross is a new shelving system currently being produced by Germany design company Müller Möbelwerkstätten. It won the Interior Innovation Award 2011 prize, published through the German design council at imm cologne 2011.

Elektra Bakery - Studioprototype

This shop is part of a chain of family-run bakeries called ‘Elektra’ located in Edessa, Greece.  Light and luminosity flood the interior of the bakery accentuating the food items on display. Exquisite materials such as Carrara marble, cedar wood and brass serve as the backdrop for all food products instilling the rustic and artisan aspect of making bread. A black powder coated steel window box projects outwards beyond the ‘crust’ of the shop, expanding the space to serve as a seating area and bar for customers inside and outside the shop.

Boomerang Wok - Nikolai Carels

The Boomerang Wok by Nikolai Carels allows you to flip omelets back onto themselves or cook without flinging food out of your pan. The pan has a strategically-designed inner lip that curves inward to keep food from flying over the edge.
